Professor of Economics Ann Owen was interviewed by American Public Media Marketplace reporter Jeremy Hobson about Federal Reserve Chairman Ben Bernanke’s Nov. 16 speech at the Economic Club of New York. The financial world listened and analyzed his perspectives on the nation’s economic future.
Owen, a former Federal Reserve Board of Governors economist, said that the chairman's words are part of the Fed's strategy to deal with inflation. “If Bernanke can convince us that the Fed is going to keep inflation in check, that's actually a big part of the job of actually keeping inflation in check by keep inflation expectations very moderate,” Owen said.
