The Hamilton Performing Arts will present Chatham Baroque in Pub and Parlour: Music of the 18th Century British Isles on Saturday, March 2 at 8 p.m. in Wellin Hall, Schambach Center for Music and the Performing Arts. There will also be a free pre-concert talk at 7 p.m. in Wellin Hall.
Hailed by National Public Radio and the National Association of Record Merchandisers as the "1999 Breakthrough Artist of the Year," Chatham Baroque plays lively Irish jigs and tuneful Scottish melodies intermingled with Italian sonatas in this unique program. Performing on period instruments, this program will feature works by Henry Purcell, Nicola Matteis, James Oswald, and Turlough O'Carolan.

Chatham Baroque is the ensemble-in-residence at Chatham College and WQED-FM in Pittsburgh, PA. Their first CD for Dorian Recordings was awarded a five-star rating by Europe's Goldberg Magazine, a first for any American ensemble. Chatham Baroque has since released three more best-selling CDs to critical acclaim. The members of Chatham Baroque are: Julie Andrijeski and Emily Davidson, baroque violin; Patricia Halverson, viola da gamba; and Scott Pauley, theorbo and baroque guitar.

Tickets are $15 adult, $10 senior, and $5 students. To reserve tickets or for more information, call the performing arts ticket office at 859-4331.
