Hamilton College men's cross country runner Adam Pfander '16 (Beacon, N.Y./Concord Academy [Mass.]) has been selected the NCAA Division III Men's Athlete of the Week by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association.

Pfander was also honored as the Eastern College Athletic Conference Men's Cross Country Runner of the Week for the Division III Upstate Region on Wednesday.

Pfander finished first out of 96 athletes and led the Continentals to the men's team title with an 8-kilometer time of 25:24.8 in the 2015 New York State Collegiate Track Conference (NYSCTC) Cross Country Championships held at Hamilton on Oct. 24. The NYSCTC individual title is the second for Pfander as he also won in 2013. His time is a personal best for that distance and it's the fifth fastest ever on the Continentals' home course.

Hamilton races in the 2015 NESCAC Cross Country Championships on Saturday, Oct. 31, at Long Lane Farm in Middletown, Conn. The men's race begins at 1 p.m.
