Hamilton’s English and Creative Writing Fall 2014 Reading Series presents events with  poets Sarah Harwell and Gary Leising on Thursday, Dec. 4. Harwell will discuss MFA programs and getting published at a coffee hour at 4:10 p.m. at the Sadove Sun Porch. Harwell and Leising will read from their work at 8 p.m. in Dwight Lounge, Bristol Campus Center, and a reception will follow. Both events are free and open to the public.

Harwell is associate director of the MFA program at Syracuse University where she teaches fiction and poetry to undergraduates. She is author of the poetry collection Sit Down Traveler and has had poems published in The Washington Post, Poetry, Tri-Quarterly and Dossier.

Leising is professor of English at Utica College. His full-length collection of poetry The Alp at the End of My Street won the 2012 Brick Road Poetry Prize and was published in 2014. He is also the author of two chapbooks of poems, Fastened to a Dying Animal and Temple of Bones. His poems have been published in many journals.
