Visiting Assistant Professor of Education Studies Meredith Madden recently presented a paper at the annual New York State Teachers Education Conference in Saratoga Springs, N.Y. The theme of the conference was “Influencing Teacher and Leader Policy and Practice Through Advocacy.”
Madden’s paper, “Crossing the K-12 / College Divide through Just Community Partnerships,” explored the impact of three collaborations between Central New York high schools and Hamilton College students enrolled in Education Studies.
The discussion focused on the outcomes of the partnerships for high school students and college students, as well as the ways such joint efforts can disrupt institutional divides and foster meaningful and just praxis of community engaged work.
