Margo Okazawa-Rey

Margo Okazawa-Rey, the Elihu Root Peace Fund Visiting Professor of Women’s and Gender Studies, received a Lasting Legacy Award at the Words of Fire Conference held April 29th and 30th at Spelman College.

The conference was organized by New York City-based Black Women’s Blueprint to celebrate the life and work of Beverly Guy Sheftall and commemorate the 20th anniversary of her edited volume Words of Fire: An Anthology of African-American Feminist.

The $400 million campaign marked the most ambitious fundraising initiative in the College's history.
