Female faculty authors were honored at a book party.

The scholarly achievements of female faculty authors in the humanities and social sciences at Hamilton College were celebrated at a book party in the Burke Library this winter.

Sponsored by The Faculty of Women's Concerns, the event honored 11 female faculty members who published a single-authored book or anthology in 2012.  The authors were on hand to answer questions about their writing, and each book was on display.

The authors honored were Joyce M. Barry, women’s studies; Barbara Gold, classics; Marianne Janack, philosophy; Anne Lacsamana, women’s studies; Catherine Phelan, communication; Peggy Piesche, German and Russian studies; Joana Sabadel-Nieto, Hispanic studies; Janelle Schwartz, comparative literature; Jane Springer, English; Katherine Terrell, English; and Margaret Thickstun, English.
