
“Luna’s Robe,” a sculpture by art concentrator Mary Swartwout ’12, has been chosen for exhibition in Made in NY 2012 at the Schweinfurth Memorial Art Center in Auburn, N.Y. The annual juried show, opening March 31 with an artist reception and award ceremony and running through May 20, features 75 contemporary works of art by 73 New York State artists.
Swartwout’s work was chosen from 549 pieces submitted by 294 artists. Jurors for this year’s exhibition were Richard Kegler, founder and lead designer at P22 type foundry in Buffalo, N.Y., and Sydney Waller, former director of Sculpture Space in Utica, N.Y.
The 21,000 square foot Schweinfurth Art Center opened in 1981 and features contemporary gallery space as well as classroom and studio space.
