The second Conference and Workshops on Technology and Chinese Language Teaching in the 21st Century (TCLT2), held at Yale University in June, drew 52 attendees from 30 institutions. The conference, co-sponsored by Hamilton College, was a follow-up to TCLT1, held at Hamilton in 2000 and organized by Professors of Chinese Hong Gang Jin and De Bao Xu.

Conference goals were to bridge the gap between technology and teaching methodology as well as curriculum; to overview the development and application of technology in the Chinese language-teaching field; to evaluate the existing multimedia and web-based materials in the Chinese language-teaching field; and to discuss future directions of development and collaboration among different schools.
