
Professor of Physics Ann Silversmith presented a talk titled “A multi-institution collaborative approach to a productive undergraduate research program in material science” during an education symposium at the annual spring meeting of the Materials Research Society (MRS) in San Francisco.
Silversmith also presented a poster, “Time-dependent upconversion in Er-Yb doped sol-gel silicate glass,” with Dan Boye, professor of physics at Davidson College.
According to its website, the MRS is “an organization of materials researchers from academia, industry, and government that promotes communication for the advancement of interdisciplinary materials research to improve the quality of life.”
