Hamilton College lost a pair of non-conference games at Lee County Field in Fort Myers, Fla., on March 19.

Hamilton (1-3 overall) was edged 4-2 by NYU-Polytechnic in the first game of the day, and fell 7-3 to Worcester State University in the second game. The Continentals are scheduled to play Nichols College and the College of Wooster on Wednesday, March 20.

Against NYU-Poly (5-2), Jenn Rougeux '14 and Kelly Leonard '15 finished with two hits apiece. Melissa Kaknis '13, Olivia Gozdz '16, Ellie Kiernan '15 and Monique St. Jarre '15 all singled. Leonard took the loss in the circle.

Christi Bruin went 3-for-4 with a double for NYU-Poly, and Catherine Mistretta ended up 2-for-3. Lyndsey Rathburn picked up the win.

Hamilton fell behind 1-0 in the first inning, but tied the score with a run in the bottom of the second. Both teams tacked on a run in the sixth inning and NYU-Poly clinched the win with two runs in the top of the seventh.

Against Worcester State (3-2), Sam Miller '14 led the Continentals' offense with two doubles. Rougeux, Kiernan, Leonard, Kaknis and Talia Mercado '15 added one single each. Lauren Fairman '16 relieved starting pitcher Amy Appel '13 in the fifth inning and took the loss.

Katie Roy starred for Worcester as she earned the win and went 2-for-2 at the plate. Sara Pelletier, Alex Kerr and Kylene Pease chipped in two hits each. Aimee Lamoureux and Meghan Rich smacked doubles. Worcester finished with 13 hits.

Hamilton trailed 1-0 in the second inning, but took a 3-1 lead thanks to three runs in the bottom of the fourth. Worcester went back in front on three runs in the next half inning, and clinched the win with three more in the top of the seventh.
