Hamilton College wrapped up its spring break trip to Florida with an 11-3 loss to Richard Stockton College and an 11-5 loss to SUNY Brockport at the Lee Sports Complex in Fort Myers, Fla., on Friday, March 19.
 
In the first game against Richard Stockton (5-4 overall), Hamilton grabbed a 2-0 lead in the top of the first inning. Richard Stockton answered with two runs of its own in the bottom of the frame.

Hamilton (0-8) added one run in the second to go up 3-2, but Richard Stockton tied the score at 3 in its next at-bat. Richard Stockton took control with six runs in the fourth and two in the fifth for the final margin. The game was stopped after five innings due to the eight-run mercy rule. Rachel Rapoza ’10 recorded a triple in the first inning for Hamilton.
 
Against SUNY Brockport (11-1), Hamilton jumped out to a 1-0 lead in the first inning. Rapoza hit a single in the first, and Melissa Kaknis ‘13 drove her in with a double to center field. In the second inning, Brockport pulled ahead with two runs. In the bottom half, Appel walked and Mandy Hyne ‘11 followed with a single. Lisa Faraci ‘13 then hit a double to drive in two more runs as the Continentals regained the lead.
 
Brockport took control with four runs in the fourth, two in the fifth and three in the sixth. The Continentals added one run in the sixth and one in the seventh for the final margin.
 
Rapoza finished with two singles and one RBI, and Liz Farrington ‘10 added two singles. Appel doubled and drove in a run. Appel allowed two earned runs on seven hits and struck out two in 5.2 innings in the loss.
 
The Continentals are off until April 1, when they play a doubleheader at Morrisville State College.
