Sar-Shalom Strong, Lecturer in Music (Piano) and Coordinator of Staff Pianists

Sar-Shalom Strong, lecturer in music performance (piano), has been selected as a recipient of the Steinway Top Teacher Award for 2022. He was notified by Steinway & Sons president Gavin English, who said that Strong was nominated by Artist Pianos, Syracuse, “which has observed firsthand the care and commitment with which you approach your piano students.”

Hamilton College was designated as an “All-Steinway School” in 2018.  The late Sam Pellman, the James L. Ferguson Professor of Music, had worked for many years to replace the College’s piano inventory with Steinway, and it was due to his efforts that Hamilton met the criteria for the distinction.

There are only around 230 All-Steinway institutions of higher learning in the world.
