Pavitra Sundar, associate professor of literature, participated in a roundtable on the topic of music, sound, and protest at the Annual Conference on South Asia in Madison, Wisc., from Oct. 18 to 21.
Her paper, titled "Bluegrass in Brown: The South Asian Travels of a Folk Genre," is part of a new research project about how the musical genre is taken up and transformed by musicians in Kolkata, India.
Terrell Delivers Paper in Scotland
Margaret Bundy Scott Humanities Professor of Literature Katherine H. Terrell presented a paper titled “‘Misogynist Chaucer’ or ‘all womanis frend’? Reevaluating Bannatyne’s Chaucer” at the 17th International Conference of Medieval and Renaissance Scottish Language and Literature, held at the University of St Andrews in Scotland in July.
