Forty-eight teams and 51 individuals competed in the 16th annual event on a day that featured rain, sun, clouds, drizzle, and mud.  Participants swam 21 lengths in the pool, biked nine miles (two times around the Griffin Road loop), and ran 5 kilometers around the cross-country course.

The entire event takes place on the Hamilton campus and surrounding roads.  HamTrek starts in the Bristol Pool and finishes in the field behind the fitness center.

Participants were encouraged to collect donations to benefit the Shawn Grady Memorial Fund. The fund, a non-profit/tax exempt organization devoted to helping local families who have children with life-threatening illnesses, was established in memory of Shawn Grady, an outstanding athlete who was diagnosed with cancer in the fall of his sophomore year.
