Three Hamilton College athletes were honored by the Liberty League on March 29 when the league selected its weekly award winners.
Jon Leanos '12 (Long Valley, N.J./Delbarton School) was named a co-offensive performer of the week for men's lacrosse. Lauren Sokol '12 (Colts Neck, N.J./Peddie School) picked up a women's lacrosse co-defensive performer of the week award and Rachel Friedman '13 (Fairfield, Conn./Fairfield Warde HS) was a co-rookie of the week selection.
Leanos scored three goals and assisted on five others in a 2-0 week for undefeated Hamilton (5-0 overall). He scored the game-winning goal with 2:51 left in the fourth quarter to lift the Continentals to a 7-6 victory at Drew University on March 24. Drew is coached by Leanos' father, Tom Leanos.
Sokol picked up seven ground balls, won five draw controls and caused three turnovers in a 3-0 week for nationally ranked No. 3 Hamilton (6-0 overall). She scooped up five ground balls in a win at St. John Fisher College on March 27.
Friedman scored six goals and added an assist in the Continentals' three road wins last week. She notched the game-winning goal with 1:48 remaining in Hamilton's 8-7 win at SUNY Cortland in a showdown between a pair of Top 10 teams on March 23.
