Three Hamilton College track and field athletes will compete in the NCAA Division III men's and women's track and field championships at Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology's Sports and Recreation Center in Terre Haute, Ind., on March 13 and 14.

Peter Kosgei '10 (Kapsabet, Kenya/Kapsabet Boys' HS), TiDelco Ductan '09 (Bronx, N.Y./Martin Luther King Jr. HS) and Akilah Bond '09 (Amherst, Mass./Amherst Regional HS) have qualified for the 2009 meet. Bond is making her third straight trip to the NCAA championships while Kosgei is appearing for the second consecutive time. Ductan is going for the first time.

Kosgei qualified in the mile with a time of 4:12.82 as he finished first at the New York State Collegiate Track Conference championships. He captured national titles and All-America honors in the 800-meter run and the mile at the 2008 NCAA Division III meet. He holds the school record in the event with a time of 4:09.31. The prelims of the mile are scheduled for Friday at 4:20 p.m.

Bond qualified in the triple jump at the Eastern College Athletic Conference Division III championships with a team-record mark of 11.79 meters (38-feet-8¼). She earned All-America honors in the event at the 2007 NCAA championships as she finished in seventh place. The women's triple jump prelims begin on Saturday at 11:30 a.m.

Ductan also qualified in the triple jump. He smashed his own school record at the New York State Collegiate Track Conference championships with a mark of 14.60 meters (47-feet-11). He has finished either first or second in the event at every meet this season. The men's triple jump prelims begin on Saturday at 3 p.m.
