The Hamilton College women’s track & field team placed third at Colgate University's Class of ’32 Invitational on Saturday. The Continentals, who recorded three first-place efforts, scored 81 points to trail only the host Raiders and runner-up Roberts Wesleyan College.

Hamilton’s 3,200-meter relay of Emily Banzer ’15, Krystina Choinski ’15, Hanna Jerome ’18 and Mattie Seamans ’18 won in a Sanford Field House record time of 9:56.90, meeting the qualifying standard for the ECAC Division III Indoor Championships.

Lindsay Heyer ’17 and Sky Aulita ’15 were individual winners with Heyer finishing the 3,000-meter run in 10:59.30 and Aulita recording a mark of 10.14 meters (33 feet, 3.25 inches) in the triple jump.

Seamans was third in the triple jump (9.86 meters/32 feet, 4.25 inches) and fifth in the 400-meter dash (1:02.36).

Yuwen Michelson ’17 placed second in the long jump (4.91 meters/16 feet, 1.5 inches). Samantha Buttrick ’17 finished third in the 500-meter dash (1:24.92) and Jerome was third in the 1,000-meter run, qualifying for the ECAC meet with a time of 3:05.79.

In the mile run, Banzer was fifth in 5:31.51 and Sarah Dimakis ’17 finished eighth in 5:47.42. Catherine Reading ’16 took fourth in the 3,000-meter run (11:32.21).

In the field events, Jessica Pedersen ’15 cleared 1.33 meters (4 feet, 4.25 inches) to place fourth in the high jump and Anna Mowat ’18 finished seventh in the shot put with an effort of 8.04 meters (26 feet, 4.5 inches).

Hamilton finished sixth in the 1,600-meter relay with Caitlin Anthony ’18, Buttrick, Abigail Counihan ’18 and Elizabeth Perry ’18 finishing in 4:38.90.

The Continentals are back in action on Friday, Feb. 20, competing at Ithaca College’s Bomber Quadrangular.
