Assistant Professor of Biology Andrea Townsend presented a talk titled “Prevalence, pathogenic potential, and fitness consequences of Campylobacter infection on migratory crows” at the 2016 meeting of the North American Ornithological Congress (NAOC) in Washington, D.C., on Aug. 17.
She was also invited to be part of a NAOC panel on “Women Rocking Science: Challenges and Opportunities in a Changing World.” The panel of female scientists and astronauts discussed challenges and opportunities for early-career female scientists.
Earlier this summer, Townsend presented her data on urban crow roosts as a winter reservoir of West Nile virus at the 2016 Ecology and Evolution of Infections and Disease conference at Cornell University.
