Hamilton College’s Hannah Jaiven '14 broke her own program record in the women’s pole vault on the first day of the 2013 Eastern College Athletic Conference Division III Outdoor Championships at Springfield College’s Blake Track on May 16.

RESULTS

Jaiven, who smashed the team record on April 13 with a height of 3.51 meters, cleared 3.54 meters (11 feet, 7.25 inches) on Thursday. The performance put her in an eight-way tie for sixth place, but after a jump-off to break the logjam, Jaiven finished in a tie for 11th place.

Rachel Cackett '13 ran to 16th place in the 10,000-meter run with a time of 39 minutes, 35.17 seconds in her final collegiate event. Jimmy Alexis '13 participated in the men’s pole vault but finished with no height.

Tufts University sits atop the men's standings with 34.33 team points and Moravian College is a close second with 26 points. Massachusetts Institute of Technology leads the women's team standings with 30 points and St. Lawrence University is second with 23.

Hamilton sends two more athletes to the track on Friday, May 17. Agne Jakubauskaite '13 competes in the women’s high jump and Sam Reider '14 races in the 400-meter dash. More information about the event and schedule can be found here.
