The Hamilton College Continentals lost in three sets against the Amherst College Lord Jeffs in a NESCAC match at Hamilton's Margaret Bundy Scott Field House on Oct. 12.

The Lord Jeffs swept the three sets by scores of 25-10, 26-24 and 25-21. Hamilton held leads in all three sets, including a 12-6 advantage in the third. Amherst finally took its first lead in that set at 21-20.

The Continentals (3-14, 0-6 NESCAC) were led by Erin Casey ’15, who matched a career high with eight kills. Ivanka Temnycky ’17 added seven and Courtney Somerville ’16 finished with six to go with four blocks. Emma Lonadier ’15 was credited with a team-high 15 digs and Anna Brown ’15 and Emily Rosen ’15 contributed 12 and 11, respectively. Sarah Pfund ’14 posted a team-high 26 assists.

The Lord Jeffs (13-5, 5-2) were led by Lauren Antion ’15 and Maggie Danner ’17 with respective totals of 12 and 11 kills. Nicole Carter ’16 had 35 assists and four blocks, and Katie Warshaw ’16 led all players with 16 digs. 

Hamilton plays a non-conference match at SUNY Institute of Technology on Tuesday, Oct. 15. The Wildcats own the NCAA’s longest winning streak at 24 matches.
