The Hamilton College Continentals came back from two sets down to force a fifth set, but lost against Colby College in a NESCAC match played at Colby's Wadsworth Gymnasium on Saturday afternoon.

The Mules (9-10, 4-5 NESCAC) cruised to 25-15 and 25-11 victories in the first two sets before Hamilton roared back with 25-23 and 25-18 triumphs in the third and fourth sets. Colby prevailed 15-9 in the decisive set. The Continentals (3-15, 1-7) were also edged in five sets at Bates College on Friday night.
Erin Donahue '18 led Hamilton with 13 kills and three service aces and added 10 digs. Donahue had just three attack errors in 24 total attempts for a .417 hitting percentage. She entered the day ranked 11th in the conference in kills per set and 12th in total kills.
Sophie Zacharakis '19 hammered a season-high 11 kills and chipped in 10 digs for the Continentals. Kyndal Burdin '18 was credited with 20 assists, Jamie Granskie '16 recorded 11 digs and Margaret O'Brien '18 led the defense at the net with five blocks.
Kim Donaldson and Sarah Arvidson paced the Mules with 10 kills apiece, and Donaldson posted seven blocks. Molly Manuel passed out 21 assists and tied Natalie Roy with a match-high 12 digs. Roy and Karolina Serhan served three aces apiece as Colby finished with 14 as a team.
Hamilton returns home to take on Utica College for a non-conference match on Monday, Oct. 19, at 6 p.m.
