The Hamilton College women’s track & field team opened its outdoor season at the 2014 University of Rochester Alumni Invitational at Fauver Stadium on Sunday.

The Continentals placed 13th at the 23-team event with 28 team points. St. Lawrence University captured the team title with 137 points, nationally ranked No. 23 SUNY Cortland was fourth with 54 and No. 12 Buffalo State College was 16th with 20.

Adrian Walsh ’16 won the 10,000-meter run with a personal-best time of 37:13.46. Walsh's performance ranks ninth nationally this spring and qualifies her for the 2014 Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) Division III Outdoor Championships in May.

Sarah Ohanesian ’14 took second in the 1,500-meter run, finishing in an ECAC-qualifying time of 4:48.53. Yuwen Michelson ’17 placed third in the long jump, clearing 5.28 meters and qualifying for the ECAC championships.

The Continentals are back in action on Saturday, April 12, competing at Rensselaer’s Upstate Classic.
