Adrian Walsh '16 highlighted Hamilton’s performance with a victory in the women's 10,000-meter run. The Continentals placed 11th in the team standings with 12 points. Nationally ranked No. 12 Williams College captured the team title with 179 points and No. 15 Amherst College was eighth with 58.

Walsh’s championship was the first in six years for the program when Akilah Bond '09 won the triple jump in 2008. Walsh, the top seed in the event, posted a winning time of 35:36.93. Her time was just eight seconds off the meet record and nearly five seconds better than the runner-up.

Walsh’s time is the third-fastest recorded in Division III this spring. She is the third Hamilton woman to win the NESCAC championship in the 10,000-meter run, joining Maggie Hanson '02 (2002) and Kate Nelson '01 (2001).

Sarah Ohanesian ’14 scored the team's other points, placing seventh in the 1,500-meter run with a time of 4:45.67. Michelle Fish ’17 was ninth in the 800-meter run in 2:19.94.

Members of the team will compete at the 2014 New York State Collegiate Track Conference (NYSCTC) Outdoor Championships at St. John Fisher College on Friday and Saturday, May 2 and 3.
