Women’s rower makes national scholar-athlete list
Hamilton College women's rower Allison Fried '13 has been selected a 2011 national scholar-athlete by the Collegiate Rowing Coaches Association (CRCA).
Fried rowed in the tw0-seat as a member of Hamilton's second varsity eight that competed at the 2011 Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) National Invitational Rowing Championships on May 8. The second varsity eight finished fifth in the petite final.
Hamilton ended its season ranked 10th in the USRowing/Collegiate Rowing Coaches Association Division III Top 15 poll on May 11. Hamilton finished fifth in the varsity eights petite final and ninth overall among Division III programs at the ECAC championships.
Student-athletes that make the list need a cumulative grade point average of 3.50 or better. The student-athletes must be at least a sophomore in academic eligibility and must have rowed in the institution's varsity boat for a minimum of 75 percent of the spring races. The program's head coach must be a member in good standing with the CRCA. Eric Summers just completed his seventh year as Hamilton's head coach.
