Hamilton College won the varsity eights race against nationally ranked No. 10 Wesleyan University, and finished second in the varsity eights against Tufts University on the Malden River outside Boston, Mass., on April 10 and 11.
 
The temperatures were in the 50s both days. There was a 15 to 20 mile-per-hour cross wind on Saturday, and a 5 to 10 mile-per-hour cross wind on Sunday.

On Saturday, Hamilton earned a victory against Wesleyan in the varsity eights race, finishing the 2,000-meter course in 7:08.71. Wesleyan crossed the finish line in 7:14.19. On Sunday, Hamilton’s varsity eight finished in 6:55.19, just 3.13 seconds behind Tufts.
 
Hamilton swept all of its races against Wesleyan. Hamilton won the second varsity eights race with a time of 7:30.14, and Wesleyan finished in 7:44.58. Hamilton finished the novice eights race in 7:40.0, which was 7.64 seconds ahead of the Wesleyan entry.

On Sunday, Hamilton won the second varsity eights with a time of 7:11.41. Tufts crossed the finish line in 7:20.09. In the novice eights, Hamilton took second place with a time of 7:29.48 as Tufts won by 21 seconds.

Sophie Breene ‘12 was coxswain for the varsity eight. The rest of the boat included Lily Ericsson ‘10 at stroke, Katie Peterson ‘12 in the bow seat and the following rowers (seats seven through two in descending order): Allison Boyaris ‘12, Holly Bailey ‘12, Lizzie Collins ‘10Antonia Villa ‘12, Ricki Feldman ‘10 and Kendall Scott ‘10.

Laura Boynton ‘12 was coxswain for second varsity eights. The rest of the boat included Izzy Cannell ‘11 at stroke, Ally Fried ‘13 in the bow seat and the following rowers (seats seven through two in descending order): Virginia Slattery ‘12, Pam Lewis ‘11, Katya Adair ‘10, Helen Higgins ‘13, Alice Dannenberg ‘11 and Christine Raia ‘10. 

Kelsey Burke ‘13 was coxswain for the novice eight. The rest of the boat included Rachel Johnson '13 at stroke, Iris Greenquist ‘13 in the bow seat and the following rowers (seats seven through two in descending order): Fionna Hoffman-Harland ‘13, Alex Orlov ’13, Meg Schlosser ’13, Ellen Doernberg ‘13, Cara Quigley ‘13 and Livy Houston ‘13.
