Hamilton College took third place in the women’s varsity eight in the Bridge-to-Bridge Head Race on the Erie Canal in Rome, N.Y., on Oct. 4.
 
Hamilton’s “A” entry finished the 6.6-kilometer course in 26:18.07. St. Lawrence’s “A” boat took first place with a time of 25:41.65. Taking second place was St. Lawrence’s “B” entry finishing in 25:48.57. Hamilton’s “B” boat finished fourth in 26:44.68.
 
In the fours and small boats race, Hamilton’s varsity four “A” entry finished fourth in 29:14.51. Colgate’s  “C” double finished first in 27:52.55. Taking second place was St. Lawrence’s varsity four in 28:32.02. Hamilton’s “B” entry finished sixth with a time of 29:47.61.
 
Sophie Breene '12 was the coxswain for the varsity eight “A” boat. The rest of the lineup included Lily Ericsson '10 at stroke, Ally Fried '13 in the bow seat and the following rowers (seats seven through two in descending order): Allison Boyaris '12, Erika Desmond '12, Spencer Gulbronson '12, Katie Peterson '12, Bret Lineberry '11 and Helen Quigley '10.
 
Kelsey Burke '13 was the coxswain for the varsity eight “B” entry. The rest of the lineup included Kendall Scott '10 at stroke, Holly Bailey '12 in the bow seat and the following rowers (seats seven through two in descending order): Virginia Slattery '12, Antonia Villa '12, Liza Ruemelin '12, Eban Lewis '11, Riley Smith '12 and Catherine Florea '11.
 
Laura Boynton '12 was the coxswain for the varsity four “A”. The rest of the lineup included Christine Raia '10 at stroke, Bailey in the bow seat, Gulbronson in 3-seat, and Catherine Prescott '12 in 2-seat.
 
Burke was the coxswain for the varsity four “B”. The rest of the lineup included Rachel Johnson '12 at stroke, Fried in the bow seat, Lineberry in 3-seat, and Lewis in 2-seat.
 
Hamilton next rows in the Head of the Charles Regatta in Boston, Mass., on Oct. 17 and 18.
