
Meredith FitzPatrick '11 finished 88th out of 387 runners as Hamilton College competed in the 37th annual Paul Short Run at Lehigh University on Oct. 1.
Hamilton placed 36th in the 41-team Brown race, which included programs from all three NCAA divisions. Rutgers University earned the team title with 118 points. The Continentals ended up with 941.
FitzPatrick's time was 23 minutes, 32 seconds on the 6-kilometer course. It was her best performance since her rookie season. The winning time of 21:03 was turned in by an athlete from Millersville University.
Abby King '11 was next for Hamilton with a time of 24:33. Erin West '11 crossed the finish line just eight seconds later in 24:41. Emily Potter '12 was close behind with a time of 24:44, and Sara Scheineson '12 rounded out the Continentals' top five in 24:45.
Hamilton hosts its own invitational on Saturday, Oct. 9.
