
Three Hamilton College runners placed in the top 10 as the Continentals finished second in the Rochester Institute of Technology Quad Meet at Genesee Valley Park on Sept. 8.
Becky MacKenzie '08, who led Hamilton in every race last year, took fifth place with a time of 20:46 on the 5,000-meter course. Meredith FitzPatrick '11 was seventh in 20:56 in her first collegiate race. Gen Flanders '09 ended up 10th with a time of 21:09.
Abby King '11 finished 13th and posted a time of 21:27. Chrissy Rubino '08 rounded out the Continentals' top five in 18th place with a time of 21:51. Adrienne Gagnier from RIT was the race winner in 19:43. A total of 57 athletes competed in the event.
Hamilton ended up with 53 team points. The University of Rochester captured the team title with 36. RIT was third with 61 and SUNY Fredonia was last with 76 points.
The Continentals host Union College for a dual meet on Saturday, Sept. 15, at noon.
