The Hamilton College women's golf team won a tournament for the first time in the program's three-year history at the 2015 SUNY Delhi Spring Invitational on Sunday.

The two-day tournament was held at Brynwood Golf & Country Club in Armonk, N.Y., and six teams competed.

The Continentals led the way after Saturday's first round with a four-person team score of 390. Hamilton was even better in the final round with a team score of 371 for a total of 761 shots. Westfield State was runner-up at 830 and Elmira College ended up third at 839.

Anne Govern '15 and Katie Veasey '17 earned two of the five spots on the all-tournament team. Govern finished second out of 29 golfers with a 36-hole total of 171. She carded a career-best round of 81 on Sunday. Veasey took third place at 176 after rounds of 89 and 87. Katie Steates '15 contributed a 96 in Sunday's final round.

Adelphi University's Lucy Stevens collected individual medalist honors with a 36-hole total of 166.

The Continentals compete in a three-team tournament with Union College and St. Lawrence University on Saturday and Sunday, April 18 and 19. Hamilton hosts the second round at Rome Country Club at noon.

The $400 million campaign marked the most ambitious fundraising initiative in the College's history.
