Hamilton College placed second out of five schools at the 2015 Le Moyne College Women's Golf Fall Invitational, which was held at Timber Banks Golf Club in Baldwinsville, N.Y., on Saturday and Sunday.
Results
Three of the five schools in the tournament were Division II athletic programs. The Continentals recorded a four-person team score of 343 on the first day and improved slightly to 341 on the second day for a tournament total of 684. Franklin Pierce University captured the team title with a 649 and Le Moyne was third at 696.
Hamilton's Libbie Warner '19 tied for third place out of 34 golfers with a 36-hole total of 163. Warner fired an 81 on Saturday and followed that up with an 82 in the final round on the par-72 layout that measured 5,812 yards. The 163 is her best tournament score so far this season. Franklin Pierce's Camden Morrison was the individual medalist at 9-over-par 153.
Electra Washburn '19 finished in eighth place at 172. Washburn carded an 82 in the first round. Liz Morris '16 was right behind Washburn in ninth place at 173, which is a collegiate best for her for 36 holes. Morris posted an 89 on Saturday and tied a career-best with an 84 in the final round. Katie Veasey '17 tied for 10th place at 176. Veasey recorded an 85 on Sunday.
The Continentals compete in the inaugural NESCAC Women's Golf Championship at Taconic Golf Club in Williamstown, Mass., on Oct. 10 and 11. The event is doubling as the Williams College Fall Invitational.
