
Hamilton College's Becca Hazlett '13 (Grosse Pointe Park, Mich./Taft School [Conn.]) was selected the 2009-10 New England Small College Athletic Conference women's ice hockey rookie of the year on March 4 when the all-conference teams were announced.
Hazlett was voted to the all-conference second team in addition to her rookie of the year honor. Hamilton's Zöe Baldwin '06 was named NESCAC rookie of the year in 2002-03.
Hazlett made 40 or more saves six times this season, with a high of 49 in a 1-0 loss at Rochester Institute of Technology on Jan. 12. She ranks fourth in the NESCAC with a .931 save percentage, and seventh with a 2.31 goals against average. She posted two shutouts in 19 starts.
Hazlett set a team record with that .931 save percentage this season. Hamilton finished the season with an overall record of 11-11-3 -- the most wins for the Continentals since 2003-04.
