The Hamilton College Continentals wrapped up their season with a 2-1 NESCAC loss against the Colby College Mules at Colby's Alfond Rink on Saturday afternoon.

The Mules (9-13-2, 5-10-1 NESCAC) scored a goal in each of the last two periods for the come-from-behind win.

The Continentals (8-14-2, 2-12-2) took a 1-0 lead with just 51 seconds left in the opening period. Megan Ahern ’17 scored her third goal of the season from in front off a shot from the point by Hannah Jaiven ’14. Teal Gosselin '17 also picked up an assist on the play.

Annie Papadellis ’14 scored the game-winning goal at 4:10 of the third period and Brianne Wheeler ’14 made 25 of her 31 saves in the final two periods for Colby.

With the score tied 1-1 after two periods, Papadellis scored on the power play for her fourth goal of the season after she stuffed in a rebound off a shot by Katie McLaughlin ‘17. Megan Fortier ’16 also had an assist on the play. McLaughlin tied the score at 1-1 at 7:38 of the second period when she was sent in on a breakaway off a pass from Kailey Buxbaum.

Wheeler stopped 12 shots in the second period and made 13 saves under heavy pressure in the third. Tori Bogen ’14 had 24 saves for Hamilton, which defeated Colby by the same 2-1 score on Friday night.

The Mules secured the seventh seed for the NESCAC championship and will play at second-seeded Amherst College on Saturday.
