Hamilton College’s rowing teams competed in Medford, Mass., on the Malden River against boats from Trinity, Tufts and Mount Holyoke on Saturday. The 2,000-meter course featured an increasing headwind throughout the day.

On the women’s side, Hamilton’s nationally ranked No. 6 varsity 8 raced twice, losing to top-ranked Trinity College (7:01.9 to 7:06.2) in one of two heats and defeating Mount Holyoke College (7:28.9 to 8:09.2) in the petite final.

The second varsity 8 raced different line-ups against Tufts University and Trinity. Trinity won 7:48.8 to 8:45.7 and Tufts won 7:24.1 to 7:39.2.

The Continentals are scheduled to host their first races of the spring on Saturday, April 11, facing No. 7 William Smith College and No. 10 Rochester Institute of Technology.
