Kristine Cupertino '07 scored two goals and assisted on another to lead Hamilton College to a 5-1 non-league win against Elmira College at Love Field on Oct. 15.

Hamilton (6-3-1 overall) stopped a four-game winless skid and snapped Elmira's two-game win streak. The Continentals have won all three games against the Soaring Eagles (3-10-0) in a series that began in 2003.

Sarah Felder '07 added two goals and Eileen Fisher '07 chipped in a goal and an assist. Fisher's assist is the 13th of her career and tied her for fifth place on the program's all-time list with Sylvi Herrick '89.

Felder ended Hamilton's 472-minute scoring drought in the 12th minute when she followed a rebound of her own shot that caromed off the post. She added her fifth goal this year on an assist from Hilary Gamble '07 in the 19th minute.

Cupertino tallied insurance goals in the 34th and 41st minute to run her total to three this year. Her second goal of the game was assisted by Maggie Porges '09. The Continentals lost their bid for a fifth shutout with 3:57 left, when Elmira scored on a scramble in front of the net. Fisher, who leads Hamilton with six goals and five assists, restored the four-goal lead just 29 seconds later.

Katie Plummer '08 made five saves while improving her record to 3-2 for the Continentals. Hamilton enjoyed a 23-10 advantage in shots, including 16-2 in the first half. The Continentals took four corner kicks to the Soaring Eagles' two. Hamilton honored its two seniors, co-captain Liz Roberts '06 and Anne Lucas '06, as they played their final home game. The start of the game was delayed 45 minutes as a thundershower passed through the area at 12:30 p.m.

The Continentals travel to Troy, N.Y., to play a Liberty League game at Rensselaer on Friday, Oct. 21, at 4 p.m.
