Alex Rimmer '13 recorded her first three-goal game to lead Hamilton College to a 3-1 win against visiting Union College in a Liberty League game at Love Field on Oct. 24.

Rimmer leads the Continentals with 12 goals and 25 points. She scored all three goals in the final 21 minutes of the second half. Kate Fowler '10 made six saves as Hamilton improved to 7-5-1 overall and 4-2-0 in the league. The Continentals are 5-1-0 at home and have outscored opponents 14-2 at Love Field. The all-time series between Hamilton and Union is tied, 15-15-3.

Union (10-5-0, 4-2) got on the scoreboard first when one of the Dutchwomen sent a shot over Fowler’s head and into the back of the goal in the ninth minute.

Rimmer and the Continentals roared back in the second half. Rimmer tied the score in the 70th minute on the first assist for Laura Stirrat '10 in her Hamilton career. Stirrat sent a pass ahead to Rimmer, who put a shot over the Union goalie and into an open net as the keeper came out of the goal in an attempt to knock the ball away.

Just 33 seconds later, Charlotte Cosgrove '13 found Rimmer, who fired an almost identical shot over the head of the goalie for her second tally of the day. Rimmer closed out the scoring with 1:32 left on an assist by Katie Lyons '11. Lyons and Cosgrove are tied for the team lead with three assists apiece.

Union held a 16-12 advantage in shots and took four corner kicks to two for the Continentals.

Hamilton hosts Skidmore College in the league finale for both teams on Sunday, Oct. 25.
