Kelly Whipple ’10 and Amanda Thorman ’13 competed in the 2010 College Squash Association individual championships at Trinity College in Hartford, Conn., on March 5 and 6.

Both players were placed in the Holleran Division. In matches played on Friday, Whipple lost her opening round match in three games to an opponent from Yale University by scores of 11-8, 11-8 and 13-11. Whipple earned a win over her Tufts University opponent in three straight games in the first round of the consolation draw (11-7, 11-4, 11-4). In the second round, she defeated her teammate Thorman by scores of 11-7, 11-5 and 11-6.

Whipple lost in the conso quarterfinals to her Williams College opponent in a close five-game match on Saturday morning. She lost her first game 11-4 and won the second 11-9. She fell 11-5 in the third, but rallied to win a close fourth game 14-12, before dropping the fifth, 11-9. Whipple finished the season with a 15-11 record, and earned 43 wins in her Hamilton career.

Thorman lost her opening round match in four games to an opponent from Yale (11-5, 11-7, 5-11, 11-8) on Friday. After a bye in the first round of the consolation draw, She lost to Whipple in the second round. Thorman finished the season with a 15-9 record.
