Women's tennis ends Florida trip with win

Hamilton College cruised to a 9-0 win against Franklin & Marshall College on March 18 and completed a trip to Orlando, Fla., that resulted in four victories out of five matches.

Deborah Barany '11 and Melissa Mann '13 posted an easy 8-1 win at first flight doubles. Sara Shaughnessy '14 and Meg Lee '14 improved their doubles record to 6-1 with an 8-4 victory at second flight. Johanna Kreisbuch '14 and Maile Thayer '11 were 8-4 winners at third flight doubles.

In singles action, Barany (first flight), Alex Arenson '13 (third), Shaughnessy (fourth), Amelia Mattern '12 (fifth) and Megan Kelley '14 (sixth) all won in straight sets. Barany improved her singles record to 8-2 in 2010-11. Mann won a third set super-tiebreaker 10-1 at second flight.

Hamilton (5-2 overall) is off until Sunday, April 10, when the Continentals host Middlebury College in New England Small College Athletic Conference action. Franklin & Marshall dropped to 0-6.
