Laura Brantley '10 won in singles play for Hamilton College, but the visiting Continentals dropped their second straight New England Small College Athletic Conference match, 7-2, against nationally ranked No. 14 Tufts University in Medford, Mass., on April 5.

Brantley won a thriller at third flight for Hamilton's only point in singles. She outlasted her opponent in a first-set tiebreaker 7-6 (4), before she dropped the second set 1-6. Brantley rallied to win the super-tiebreaker in the third set 11-9 for the team point.

Hamilton's other point came at second flight doubles. Deborah Barany '11 and Amelia Mattern '12 teamed up for an 8-6 win.

Hamilton (1-8 overall, 0-2 NESCAC) heads to Colgate University for a non-conference match on April 14. Tufts improved its record to 6-1 overall and 4-0 in the conference.
