Hamilton College women's tennis player Kaitie Donovan '06 (Milwaukee, Wisc./Deerfield Academy) has been selected to the 2003-04 all-New York State Women's Collegiate Athletic Association (NYSWCAA) team after a successful season as Hamilton's No. 1 singles player.
Donovan and Kate Borne '06 (Fort Wayne, Ind./Canterbury) earned honorable mention all-state honors as a doubles team. Donovan won 10 singles matches, which was the second highest total for the Continentals. Three of her losses were three-set matches. She reached the first flight quarterfinal round at the state and New England Small College Athletic Conference championships. Donovan also advanced to the second round of the ITA Northeast Regional Championships in September. She was an all-Upstate Collegiate Athletic Association (UCAA) singles team pick last fall.
Donovan was named the 2002 UCAA and NYSWCAA rookie of the year after compiling a 13-2 record at second flight singles. Hamilton ended up with a 5-15 dual record in 2003-04. The Continentals finished in sixth place at the UCAA Championships and in ninth place at states.
