Hamilton College clinched a 7-2 victory against Millsaps College by winning five singles matches at Lake Sylvan Park in Sanford, Fla., on March 15.

The Continentals (7-5 overall) improved their record to 2-1 on this Spring Break trip. Hamilton is ranked 14th in the Northeast Region by the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) in the latest Fila NCAA Division III Poll released on Nov. 15, 2005. Millsaps -- a Division III school located in Jackson, Mississippi -- is now 2-2.

Sarah Coleman '08 moved into a tie for third place on the Continentals' all-time list with 38 career singles wins. Coleman won 6-3, 6-2 at first flight and is 18-3 this year. She is seventh in the regional singles rankings. Coleman teamed with Sarah Sallan '09 to move to 3-0 at second doubles with an 8-1 victory.

Kara Powers '08 cruised to a 6-1, 6-1 victory at second flight singles. Julia Houlden '09 and Ashley Pardoe '09 won by identical 6-2, 6-1 scores at fourth and fifth flight, respectively. Elizabeth Goheen '09 dropped just two games en route to an easy victory at sixth flight. Goheen and Pardoe, who went 8-2 as a doubles team in the fall, won 8-1 at third flight.

Hamilton plays a pair of matches at Orlando's Sandlando Park on Friday, March 17. The Continentals face Virginia's Emory & Henry College at 9 a.m. before taking on Minnesota's College of St. Scholastica at 5 p.m.
