
Hamilton College finished seventh of 13 teams in the St. Lawrence University Invitational held at Newell Field House on Jan. 23.
The Continentals earned a total of 37 team points. University of Rochester finished in first place with a total of 143 points. St. Lawrence took second with 84 points, and SUNY Brockport finished third with 71.5 team points.
Muriel Schwinn ‘13 earned a runner-up finish for the Continentals in the long jump with a distance of 4.85 meters (15-feet-11). Schwinn took third place in the 55-meter dash, recording a time of 7.63 seconds. Right behind her in fourth place was Alexandra Americanos ‘10, who finished in 7.70 seconds.
In the 400-meter dash, Glenn Watkins ‘12 finished sixth, clocking a time of 63.65 seconds. In the 500-meter dash, Caitlin Hult ‘12 also ended up sixth with a time of 1:26.52. Liz Wahl '10 took fourth place in the 200-meter dash, as she crossed the finish line in 27.26 seconds.
In the 800-meter relay, the team of Wahl, Americanos, Schwinn and Danica Wuelfing ‘10 took fourth place with a time of 1.50.83. That time was just 1.27 seconds behind the winners.
The Continentals compete at Colgate University’s Class of '32 Invitational on Saturday, Jan. 30.
