Muriel Schwinn '13 placed second in the long jump for Hamilton College on the first day of the 2012 New York State Collegiate Track Conference men's and women's indoor track & field championships at Hamilton's Margaret Bundy Scott Field House on Feb. 24.

The Continentals are in seventh place with 15 team points after the first day of the two-day meet. Ithaca College leads the 11-team field with 101 points.
Schwinn recorded a mark of 5.09 meters (16 feet, 8.5 inches) in the long jump. She also qualified for the finals of the 60-meter dash with a time of 8.25 seconds in the preliminary heats.
Hannah Lyons '14 took fifth place in the 5,000-meter run. Lyons' time was 18:54.94.
Four seniors led the distance medley relay to sixth place and qualified for next weekend's Eastern College Athletic Conference Division III championships with a time of 12:58.43. Glenn Watkins '12, Caitlin Hult '12, Sarah Boak '12 and Sara Scheineson '12 were the members of the relay.
The meet concludes on Saturday, Feb. 25.
