
Hamilton College's Muriel Schwinn '13 (Auburn, Maine/Edward Little HS) was selected to the 2011-12 Capital One academic all-district women's track & field/cross country team for District 3 by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) on May 31.

Schwinn is one of 11 student-athletes on the team. District 3 is comprised of NCAA Division III schools located in New York State. Schwinn is a neuroscience major.
Schwinn has earned six New York State Collegiate Track Conference indoor and outdoor all-conference awards so far during her Hamilton career. She was voted the 2010 Liberty League indoor rookie of the year and earned NESCAC all-conference outdoor honors in the long jump later that same year. She holds indoor school records in the 55- and 60-meter dash and the long jump, and the outdoor record in the long jump. Schwinn is a two-time member of the NESCAC spring all-academic team, and was named to the 2011-12 NESCAC winter all-academic team.
Student-athletes need to be at least sophomores in academic standing at their institution to be eligible for the CoSIDA all-academic team. They also need to have a cumulative grade point average of 3.30 or better on a 4.0 scale.
