
Kary Pardy '08 broke her own Hamilton College indoor record in the weight throw at the non-team scoring Rochester Institute of Technology Invitational on Jan. 19.
Pardy finished third in the weight throw and qualified for the Eastern College Athletic Conference Division III championships with a distance of 14.51 meters (47-feet-7¼). Her previous record of 13.68 meters was set on Feb. 23, 2007.
Alexandra Americanos '10 finished fifth in the 55-meter dash preliminary heats to qualify for the finals, where she took fourth place. Americanos' time of 7.66 seconds in the finals was .02 seconds off the school record.
Akilah Bond '09, who was an All-American in the triple jump at the 2007 NCAA Division III championships, finished second in the event with a mark of 10.73 meters (35-feet-2½). Liz Wahl '10 took third place in the 200-meter dash out of 28 athletes with a time of 28.28 seconds.
Jess DeMichiel '08 placed in the top six in the pole vault, shot put and weight throw. DeMichiel was fourth in the pole vault (2.85 meters), and sixth in both the shot put (9.96 meters) and the weight throw (13.46 meters).
Amanda Salisburg '08 captured third place in the pole vault as she cleared 2.85 meters (9-feet-4¼). Sarah Caney '09 was fourth in the 500-meter dash with a time of 1:27.78. Jori Belkin '11 ended up sixth in the high jump with a height of 1.50 meters (4-feet-11).
Hamilton will compete in Colgate University's Class of '32 Invitational on Saturday, Jan. 26. The meet starts at 10:30 a.m.
