Hamilton College finished in 10th place at the 2010 New England Small College Athletic Conference outdoor track and field championship, which was hosted by Tufts University at Dussault Track/Ellis Oval in Somerville, Mass., on Saturday, April 24.
 
The Continentals finished with 17 team points. Muriel Schwinn ’13 claimed third place in the long jump with a mark of 5.26 meters (17 feet, 3-¼ inches). Schwinn also earned a fourth place finish in the 100-meter dash with a time of 12.88 seconds. Her time in the preliminary heats was slightly faster at 12.81 seconds.
 
In the javelin throw, Laurie Horesta ’12 recorded a sixth place finish with a mark of 33.51 meters (109-feet-11). Liz Wahl ’10 crossed the finish line in 26.29 seconds in the 200-meter dash for eighth place. Schwinn, Wahl, Alex Rimmer ’13 and Danica Wuelfing ‘10 finished seventh in the 400-meter relay with a time of 51.02 seconds.
 
Williams College took first place with 188 team points, Tufts University finished second with 144.50 points and Middlebury College took third with 140.50 total points.
 
Hamilton competes in the New York State Collegiate Track Conference championship on April 30 and May 1 at Rensselaer in Troy, N.Y.
