
Muriel Schwinn ’13 claimed two first place finishes and set a school record in the long jump at Hamilton College’s multi-divisional, non-team scoring Continental Invitational at Pritchard Track on April 20.
Schwinn’s mark of 5.33 meters in the long jump set a program record. The previous record of 5.31 meters was set by Akilah Bond ’09 on May 4, 2007. Schwinn also took first place in the 100-meter dash, crossing the finish line in 12.61 seconds.
Emily Heckman ‘13 earned a first place finish in the 800-meter run with a time of 2:26.35. In the high jump, Brooke Rayder ‘11 earned a victory with a height of 1.43 meters. Liz Wahl ‘10 finished the 200-meter dash in 26.16 seconds to take second place.
Maddy Gunter ’11 finished in second place in the 1,500-meter run, clocking a time of 5:02.27. In the 400-meter dash, Caitlin Hult ‘12 and Glenn Watkins ‘12 took second and third place, respectively. Hult finished in 1:03.72, and Watkins was right behind her with a time of 1:04.37.
The Continentals compete in the 2010 New England Small College Athletic Conference championships at Tufts University on Saturday, April 24.
