
Muriel Schwinn '13 finished first in the 100- and 200-meter dash to lead Hamilton College as the Continentals hosted the non-team scoring Hamilton Invitational at Pritchard Track on April 23.

Schwinn's time in the 100 was 13.91 seconds, and in the 200 it was 28.87 seconds, as the athletes struggled with a terrible headwind. Sarah Ohanesian '14 was first in the 800-meter run with a time of 2:26.32, and Emily Heckman '13 was right behind in second place in 2:27.41. Erin West '11 took first place in the 1,500-meter run with a time of 5:06.28.
In the field events, Molly Brooks '14 finished first in the discus with a distance of 27.11 meters. Claire Hunsinger '13 captured first place in the javelin throw at 27.22 meters.
Hamilton competes in the 2011 New England Small College Athletic Conference championships at Wesleyan University on Saturday, April 30.
