Hamilton College finished in sixth place at the 2011 New York State Collegiate Track Conference indoor championships, which were held at St. Lawrence University's Newell Field House on Feb. 25 and 26.

Muriel Schwinn '13 finished in the top five in three events to lead Hamilton. Schwinn took third place in the 55-meter dash (faster time of 7.65 seconds in prelims), and the 200-meter dash (27.54 seconds). She also qualified for next week's Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) Division III championships and finished fifth in the long jump with a mark of 5.15 meters.

The Continentals qualified for the ECAC meet in two relay events. Hamilton won the 3,200-meter relay with a time of 9:55.75. Emily Heckman '13, Sarah Ohanesian '14, Maddy Gunter '11 and Abby King '11 were the relay members. King, Anna Heywood '13, Ohanesian and Erin West '11 finished fourth in the distance medley relay in 12:56.59.

Heckman was fifth in the 800-meter run with a time of 2:24.78. In the mile run, Gunter ended up fifth (5:23.08), and West finished seventh (5:26.88).

Molly Brooks '14 finished eighth in the 20-pound weight throw with a distance of 13.01 meters. Brooke Rayder '11 competed in the pentathlon and came in seventh place with 2,265 points.

Hamilton finished with 48 team points. Ithaca College dominated the 10-team field with 258 points.

The ECAC Division III championships are at the New York City Armory on Friday and Saturday, March 4 and 5.
