The Hamilton College Continentals wrapped up two days of competition at the 2014 New York State Collegiate Track Conference (NYSCTC) Indoor Championships, placing eighth at the 13-team event held at St. Lawrence University’s Newell Field House on Saturday.

Two Continentals recorded runner-up showings. Sarah Ohanesian ’14 was second in the mile run (5:13.90) and Adrian Walsh ’16 placed second in the 3,000-meter run (10:03.37). Both times met the Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) Division III Indoor Championships qualifying standard. The 2014 championships are at the Reggie Lewis Track & Athletic Center in Boston on Friday and Saturday, March 7 and 8.

Krystina Choinski ’15 finished fourth in the 1,000-meter run in an ECAC-qualifying time of 3:06.94. Hamilton’s 3,200-meter relay of Choinski, Ohanesian, Samantha Buttrick ’17 and Jessye McGarry ’16 was fourth with an ECAC time of 9:56.83.

Three nationally ranked teams competed at the meet including No. 12 Rensselaer (4th with 54 points), No. 17 Ithaca College (2nd, 157.5) and No. 23 St. Lawrence (1st, 201.5).
